Piaggio is the biggest manufacturer of two wheel transport in the world, as well as Piaggio brand names, Piaggio also sell scooters under the well known makes of Vespa and Gilera.

The Liberty scooter is Piaggio's big wheeled scooter that so many manufacturers are producing, starting life in 50cc engine sizes, also available (in Italy, Switzerland and Austria) is a Catalysed version which meets Euro 1 standards. The Liberty also comes with larger 125cc and 150cc engines four stroke engines with catalyser as standard.

The Zip is marketed as Piaggio's "town scooter", modern looking, small and agile. Again available in 50cc, and 125cc engines, the smaller of which can be chosen in either two stroke or four stoke format.

The NRG eXtreme comes in four examples all of which are 50cc, you can chose air or water cooled, cat or non cat versions. A sports model, even comes with expansion type exhaust as standard.

The DT models which are air cooled has front disc and rear drum, while the liquid cooled DD models gain disc front and rear.

The Typhoon XR (50cc) and Typhoom XR 125 are both "off road" styled scooters, chunky tyres, two stroke engines, are both rugged and competitively priced among its rivals.

The Skipper 125ST and 150ST, with the ST standing for "sports tourer" both come with four stoke engines. Aimed at middle distance touring, the Skipper comes with little extras such as ice formation tell-tale light, panniers and other equipment can be purchased also.

X9 Evolution 250
The use of the all-new Quasar 250 engine makes the Piaggio X9 Evolution the benchmark in terms of performance, concern for the environment and economy of use in the 'quarter-litre' category.

X9 Evolution 500
The X9 Evolution gives you a truly emotional ride. Apart from being kind to the environment, our scooter also packs enough power to emerge top of its class. And it's matched only by a first-class comfort and reliability for which Piaggio is known for.

Nexus 500
An entirely new breed of scooter. Delivering the ultimate sports scooter ride through cross-breeding the sport character of the Gilera brand with the performance provided by MASTER 500 electronic injection engine, that has been developed exclusively for the Nexus and is seen on this scooter in its most powerful version, the Gilera Nexus is the first Sport Gran-Turismo scooter.

The cyclistic is rich of original solutions such as the progressive "Power Drive" shock absorber system and the 'Direct Link' fixing system of rear suspension and single cylinder engine on to the frame. And for the first time on a scooter, the rear-positioning angle is adjustable to the driver's riding style.

Vespa ET2 and ET4 versions were both designed to replace the classic PX range of scooters, they are both quite happy as a tourer or a town scooter. The 50cc two stroke engine features Piaggio's FAST (Fully Atomised Stratified Turbulence) engine, making it the first two wheeler with a two stroke direct injection engine. The ET version could not quite get rid of the PX range though as world wide sales particularly in the UK continued to keep the model in production. Styling from the seventies, but good build quality and solid construction keeps this model going. With four speed manual gears, add ons such as front disc brake and even catalysed engines should see this model produced for a few more years. Touring models of Piaggio's range comes in the form of the SuperHexagon, available in 125, 180 and 250cc engine sizes, comfortable tourers with a range of standard goodies. These range from large panniers, to mobile phone chargers, windscreen to backrest for the rider, the SuperHexagon is an ideal tourer.
